The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is pleased
to announce the Call of Papers for its International
Journal of Open Schooling (IJOS).
Authentic, scholarly and unpublished research papers are invited
from the academicians, writers, practitioners from the field of
open schooling for publication in the first volume of an
International Journal with ISSN.
About the Journal
The International Journal of Open
Schooling is an international, peer reviewed
journal. It aspires to publish high-quality original research
papers, articles, review articles, and case studies, in the various
fields of Distance Learning, Open Education, E-learning,
Integrated education and Hybrid learning, which have not
been published or considered for publication elsewhere.
The journal is published by National Institute of Open Schooling
(NIOS), one of the national boards in India under the Ministry of
Education, Government of India and the largest open schooling in
the world with a cumulative enrolment of 3.5 million (approx.) and
approximately 0.5 million learners admitted every year.
The Journal provides the academic fraternity, researchers,
professional, and practitioners an opportunity for the submission
and publication of original high quality empirical research and
theoretical papers, case studies, literature reviews and book
reviews pertaining to innovations in open schooling system. The
journal will also provide a forum to share views, activities,
research and innovations with people across the globe. It shall
comprise articles that promote and propagate open
schooling/education practices to explore diverse learning cultures
and connect us with the benefits and limitations of Open distance
schooling.
Brief Concept Note:
The 21st century technological advancements and
innovations has made the education and learning a level playing
field with more equitable and accessible quality education to a
large section of society leading to a paradigm shift in the domain
of Open and Distance Learning. The virtual and AI augmented
learning along with other innovative measures has connected a vast
multitude of learners, facilitators and experts in the process of
teaching and learning. The unprecedented Covid19 pandemic has made
the virtual learning indispensible with the adoption of the cutting
edge technology. However, it would not be a boast to mention that
open schooling has always created a stir by adopting various
pioneering measures in the field of education to make the learning
process all inclusive and accessible by reaching the unreached in
every possible way. IJOS, NIOS provides a wonderful opportunity to
all the practitioners and academicians to share their knowledge and
innovative strategies across all the sections of society. In this
direction, a full length quality original paper is invited.
