UNESCO Literacy Prize was Awarded to NIOS for Innovation in Education
The ‘National Institute of Open Schooling’ from India won the prestigious UNESCO King
Sejong Literacy Prize 2021 for its programme ‘Enabling education of persons with
disabilities through technology enabled inclusive learning material, with specific focus
on Indian Sign language-based content’ in an award function organised at UNESCO New
Delhi office on 10 th July 2021. On behalf of NIOS, Prof. Saroj Sharma, Chairperson, NIOS
received the international Literacy prize and thanked UNESCO for recognising efforts and
innovations of NIOS in the field of education and literacy. |
